Black Cat Clapping Meme Origin & Meaning
The Black Cat Clapping meme features a black cat standing upright on its hind legs, grinning politely and rhythmically slow-clapping with miniature hands.
The clip originated from a comedic AI sketch posted by creator @merkurianin on Instagram. In the video, the owner tries to feed his cat, but the cat sits up and starts applauding with a deadpan stare.
Creators isolated the cat onto green-screen backgrounds to use as a reaction template. It is commonly used for sarcastic applause, awkward fails, and situations where making noise is a terrible idea.
